In the last few years, many areas of Australia have experienced the catastrophic effects of natural disasters on the environment and on wildlife. Protections for wildlife are extremely weak, especially for common native species.
With the multitude of threats facing wildlife, a strong position on increasing protections for all wildlife is becoming increasingly vital for the long-term survival of many species and for Australia’s biodiversity.
By increasing the focus on wildlife protection, the Federal Labor Government will be responding to fast growing community concerns about the effects of climate change and natural disasters on all Australian wildlife.
