Preamble
For a decade, the Liberal-National Government cut and outsourced our public services, compromising jobs, services, and wasting billions of taxpayer dollars. The previous government cared only about slashing and dismantling the services which keep this country moving.

The Federal Labor Government has committed to undoing these destructive decisions, with the 2024-25 Federal Budget seeing the Government continuing to address these outsourcing arrangements by converting almost 9,000 employees, who already doing public sector work, across into secure, transparent and accountable public service roles and adding an additional 17,000 jobs.

This is another step towards a fully funded, frank, and fearless public service.
